Product Review
A dream to use
I have decided to give myself some time before leaving a review, as I wanted to really road test it so I could be thorough.
I have had this item for about a month now & have used it in different environments. First though, getting this into my car;
I have the 12" wheels, which are much bigger than my previous rollators wheels, the fold is also different. I have a VW Golf SV & tbh, I was worried I'd never get it in the boot. I have managed but I've not used the parcel shelf since using the walker as I can't get both in at the same time. So be aware of the size of you have a small boot.
This is incredible on grass & uneven surfaces. I hardly notice I'm pushing it on grass, it just glides along effortlessly. I go to a park with my children & our dog, so walking on grass is the norm there. There are lots of dips & bumps but this walker just glides over them with ease. I barely noticed there were dips & bumps it's so smooth. On cobbles it's not quite so smooth but it is far far smoother than a traditional rollator, you're not shaken to your core, which is good. You don't get jerked around or bone rattled, which is also good. This is handy as I live in an area that has cobbled streets to navigate.
I wanted to test the walker on sand & as my sister was visiting, we decided to take her to the beach. This is far superior to a traditional rollator on sand. I was able to get right down to the shore line. The only thing it couldn't tackle was very loose soft sand, he wheels just dug in & I couldn't move it. My husband wondered if you did broader wheels? It would be good if you did, even if it's just the front wheels.
All in all, I really do enjoy this rollator. It's comfortable to sit on, it's smooth & effortless to move. It's very sturdy, which is something I really appreciate, because I have a risk of falling, I can steady myself with this, with just one hand on the walker, which I fine incredibly reassuring. I am very pleased to have purchased this. My only issues are, the break lock is difficult to use if you have weak wrists. I sometimes struggle as I have hypermobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome & some days my fingers & hands are too weak & hypermobile to get the break on. The other is the colour...why does the small only come in red? I would love it in green. Also, why isn't there a strap to keep it in its folded position? That would be handy.
Is it worth the money? Yes. Absolutely. For quality, stability, manoeuvrability, style, weight...all of that is worth the money.
